team for conditions most prevalent in women during their reproductive, menopausal and postmenopausal
years in four areas: Mature Women's Health, Gynecology-Oncology, Benign Gynecology and Ultrasound.
Triage
Nursing Assessment (Triage) is an essential component of the Menopause, Gynecology-Oncology, Urogynecology, Benign Gynecology programs.
1. Mature Women's Health
Menopause Clinic FAQ
Our clinic provides a multidisciplinary team approach to women's health
care from the menopause transition (perimenopause) to the postmenopausal
years. Nursing clinics are conducted by registered nurses who are credentialed
Menopause Educators and Practitioners. Our physicians include gynecologists,
internists and family practitioners. The focus of the clinic is patient
education, assessment and treatment with the development of an individualized
health care plan.

Menopause Public Information Sessions
These free sessions are offered in French and in English on a monthly
basis. Registration is required. Check our Menopause

Osteoporosis Clinic FAQ
The Osteoporosis Clinic provides care to women who have been diagnosed or have a high risk of developing osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis is the deterioration of bone tissue. The deterioration of bone tissue leads to increased bone fragility and
risk of fracture. Osteoporosis is often known as "the silent thief" because bone loss occurs without symptoms.
2. Gynecology-Oncology
Colposcopy Clinic FAQ
Colposcopy is a procedure used to assess women with abnormal Pap smears
and also for the diagnosis of problems of the lower genital tract, specifically
the vulva, vagina and peri-anal area. It is performed by gynecologists
with specific training and incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to
diagnosis and treatment. Registered nurses provide individual patient
education and support. A state-of-the-art computerized system (GOCIS)
is used for charting, follow-up and recording of all results. It ensures
standardization, enhances quality control and patient safefty and enables
prompt communication of results with the referring physician.

Gynecolgy Oncology Clinic FAQ
This clinic is conducted four times a week. Its purpose is to assess, diagnose,
treat and follow women with suspect pre-malignant and malignant lesions
of the lower genital tract. State-of-the-art ultrasound and diagnostic
methods are available for accurate and timely diagnosis. The clinic is
staffed with registered nurses and physicians who specialize in gynecologic
cancers.

3. Benign (non-cancerous) Gynecology
Urogynecology Clinic FAQ
This clinic provides services for the diagnosis and management of urinary
incontinence, bladder dysfunction, prolapse and pelvic floor disorders.
We offer clinics for the fitting and management of pessaries, intermittent
self catheterization, biofeedback therapy, and urodynamic testing. Conservative
management for urinary incontinence and pelvic floor health is provided
by Nurse Continence Advisors. Evaluations of bladder dysfunctions are
provided by specialists in Urogynecology.

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) Clinic
The PMS Clinic serves the needs of women with moderate to severe premenstrual
mood and other disturbances related to hormonal change at that time of
the menstrual cycle.

Contraception Clinic FAQ
In the Contraception Clinic, gynecologists, family physicians, and nurses,
provide supportive contraceptive counseling and care for women of reproductive
age. A special focus will be on women with complicated contraceptive issues,
for example medical conditions, complications while using contraception,
or difficulties with contraceptive compliance.

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding Clinic FAQ
This clinic focuses on the woman who suffers from irregular or abnormal
gynecological bleeding, too much, too little, too painful and too often.
Conditions such as Uterine Fibroids, Polyps, Hypersplinia and failure
of therapies are addressed. Alternatives to hysterectomy are stressed
following appropriate investigations to identify the cause of the problem
and, education and guidance to help women select treatment options.

Vulva Clinic FAQ
The Vulva Clinic provides care to women who suffer from symptoms of vulvar disease. Symptoms of vulvar disease
can be itching or burning of the vulva, abnormal looking skin, ulcerations or sores, and painful intercourse.
Treatments of vulvar disease are often not curative and aim at controlling the symptoms.
4. Ultrasound
Gynecology Ultrasound Clinic
This clinic provides state-of-the-art gynecologic imaging. Using the most-advanced,
high-resolution ultrasound equipment, scans are performed by registered
Medical Sonographers and interpreted by specialized physicians. Gynecologic
ultrasound provides visualization of the uterus and ovaries that may help
explain findings from the manual pelvic exam or may add important additional
information. Common indications for a pelvic ultrasound examination include
abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, suspicion of an abnormality on
bi-manual gynecological exam and follow-up of hormonal therapies.
