Organ and Tissue Donation Program

The Ottawa Hospital Organ and Tissue Donation Program is one of Canada's most innovative donor programs. Donor Coordination is recognized as a unique discipline encompassed within Critical Care since 1992.

It is the primary referral centre for all adult donors within the Ottawa Carleton Region. The donor rate has ranged between 18-31 donors per million population (DPMP) which is significantly higher than both the provincal and national rates of 13-14 donors per million population.
