Smoking Policy

The Ottawa Hospital allows smoking in Designated Smoking Areas.

Smoke from tobacco products is a proven health hazard, as a provider of health care services we strive to reduce the amount of second-hand smoke employees, volunteers, patients and visitors are exposed too. Please help us achieve this goal by smoking only in designated areas.

Patients who want help to quit smoking should talk to a nurse who can provide them with a variety of smoking cessation options (staff can contact Occupation Health and Safety to discuss smoking cessation options).

Note: one of the smoking areas at the General Campus has moved in order to allow for construction in the Emergency Department to get under way. The new area is located across from the main doors. Map of Smoking Areas
