The immunodeficiency clinic is an outpatient clinic that has a multidisciplinary
team to provide specialized care to persons with HIV/AIDS. The clinic
is a regional centre specializing in care and research on HIV infection.
It is also a distribution point for antiretroviral medication.
Patients can participate in clinical trials. The multidisciplinary
team consists of physicians specializing in infectious diseases, nurses,
social workers, a psychologist, a dietician, a pharmacist and a research team.
The clinic offers care on an outpatient basis. It provides Pentamidine inhalation
treatments and has a satellite pharmacy to distribute certain medication.
Patients are followed in cooperation with their family doctors.
The clinic organizes educational activities for patients and support groups,
and has a liaison committee to improve communication with the clients and the community.
