Physician's referrals are required for occupational therapy services. To receive a referral, speak to a health professional working with you during your stay in the hospital.

Your occupational therapist can provide you with a list of vendors in the Ottawa Carleton area who carry assistive and mobility devices. You may also want to look at the yellow pages under "Hospital Equipment and Supplies".

How do I purchase a wheelchair?

Your occupational therapist can provide you with information towards purchasing a wheelchair and accessories. Speak to your therapist about the Assistive Devices Program, a program run by the Ontario Ministry of Health to assist with the financial cost of mobility devices.
