Nursing Research

Inquiring Minds at work

The Ottawa Hospital supports nursing research and nursing related activities for all nurses from the clinician at the bedside to the career scientist.

Nursing research at The Ottawa Hospital includes the generation, dissemination and utilization of new knowledge that promotes excellence in professional nursing practice. Opportunities to learn more about research and share experiences are provided routinely through activities such as:

  • Journal clubs, lunch and learn sessions and workshops
  • Close collaboration with local universities and colleges
  • Funding support for the development of posters, papers and presentations

The nursing research culture is enhanced through the commitment at all levels of management, a dedicated Coordinator of Nursing Research position, and the Nursing Research Work Group, to the development, support and recognition of staff in nursing research activities. Working at The Ottawa Hospital, you will see research being done to answer clinically important questions!
