Pierre Antoine Brown , MD, FRCPC(C)

Dr. Pierre Antoine Brown graduated from medical school at the University of Ottawa and completed residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Nephrology, both at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Science in Medical Informatics, from Northwestern University . His clinical interests include hemodialysis and general nephrology. He is actively involved in medical informatics in the Division of Nephrology and is working on the development and implementation of a clinical database to track all Progressive Renal Insufficiency Clinic patients and their clinical outcomes. He is also overseeing the introduction of the Dialysis Measurement, Analysis and Reporting System; an ICES database aimed at improving dialysis patient care and access to home therapies for ESRD.

He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on varied topics including HIV and peritoneal dialysis. His current research interests include the application of information technology to improve health-care outcomes and CQI projects.

Hemodialysis, CKD, general nephrology.

Educational Interests
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in nephrology.
