The Ottawa Hospital honours three volunteers with a Spotlight award

Marg, Audrey, Muriel2012 marks the 45th anniversary of the Riverside Campus.  National Volunteer Week (April 16-20) recognized three Riverside volunteers: Audrey, Muriel and Marg, who have been volunteering since 1966, before the hospital opened its doors that January morning in 1967. Their job was to provide tours of the new Riverside Hospital. From the Emergency Department to the gift shop, these women have devoted over 25,000 combined hours of their time (45+ years), with a smile on their face willing to direct patients, answer any questions they may have, or simply have a conversation.

Among the other volunteers who received Spotlight awards for outstanding service and dedication, Audrey, Muriel and Marg were presented their awards recently at the Riverside to thank them for their many years of service.  We are very lucky to have these women volunteer their time, energy and expertise to work with our staff and contribute to our patients’ positive experience at The Ottawa Hospital.
