May 15, 2014 — Yesterday, a tragic death occurred at The Ottawa Hospital.

Our thoughts and sympathy are with the family of the person involved.

We are concerned for those staff and patients who were affected by the incident. We urge all patients who need assistance to consult our social workers. Staff who need help are urged to contact our Occupational Health department.

The incident is under investigation by the Ottawa Police Service and as such, no further details will be released.

The investigation will not have any impact on patient care.

Our first concern is always for the safety of patients, visitors and staff.
