October 30, 2012 – The Ottawa Hospital is pleased to confirm that it does have a supply of flu vaccines available and our immunization campaign has not slowed down. Our flu campaign team has been working closely with Ottawa Public Health from the moment the temporary suspension of Novartis vaccine was announced last Friday evening. Ottawa Public Health has been proactive on this issue and our teams have worked together to access new product from an alternate supplier to ensure continuity of supply for the hospital.

The flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the spread of influenza to our patients and staff. Staff is encouraged to get their shot at locations across the hospital.
