The diagnosis and treatment of cancer can be very difficult for those affected and their families. The Psychosocial Oncology Program at The Ottawa Hospital was established to provide you with the support you need to help you cope with the many challenges associated with cancer and its treatment. Our approach to care is holistic and aims to provide you with emotional, psychological, social, practical and rehabilitation support. Our services are confidential, and can be provided to you and/ or your family individually or in a group setting. You can access our services at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre-General Campus and the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre- located at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital.

Our Services

You can come to us for a variety of supports, such as:

• Counselling
• Emotional support
• Practical assistance like (loss of income, etc…)
• Nutritional assessment and counselling
• Physical Rehabilitation
• Support group and/or education sessions

Making an Appointment

A referral from a physician is not required in order to get an appointment with the Psychosocial Oncology Program professionals.
