Directions
From West of Ottawa
- Take the Queensway (Hwy 417) to the Vanier/Riverside Drive exit
- After exiting the Queensway, stay in the right hand lane as you move
onto Riverside Drive. The safest and least stressful way is to ignore
the “H” Hospital signs that would have you moving across
four lanes of fast-moving traffic to turn left on Industrial. Instead,
continue straight down Riverside Drive, through the lights at Industrial
and continue on Riverside until you come to a set of lights and make
a left turn onto Smyth Road.
Alternate Route from the West end (Bells Corners, Nepean)
- Take Baseline Road east, curve right at Riverside Drive East, and
circle down past the Revenue Canada building
- Turn right, drive past the RA Centre, Billings Bridge Shopping Plaza
- Cross Bank Street, drive past the Riverside Campus of The Ottawa Hospital
- Turn right onto Smyth Road east
- General Campus will be on the left after you cross Alta Vista Drive
From East of Ottawa
- If you are coming from the East end (Cumberland, Orléans)
on Highway 174 which merges with 417 just before the St. Laurent Shopping
Centre,
- Exit at Riverside/Vanier and stay on the left to turn left on Riverside
- Go south on Riverside to Smyth where you turn left into the General
Campus after crossing Alta Vista Drive
Alternate route from the East end (Cumberland/Orléans)
- Take Innes Road all the way to St. Laurent
- Turn left on St. Laurent (Liam Maguire’s is on your left)
- Turn right on Smyth
- Turn right into the multi-campus entrance (CHEO, General, Eye Institute and
Rehabilitation Centre (distance from Tenth Line Rd. to the General Campus
Visitors’ Parking Lot is about 15.5 km.)
From Western Quebec
- Take the MacDonald Cartier bridge and stay on King Edward
- Turn right on Greenfield then left on Main
- Stay on Main (it will become Smyth)
- Follow the blue H “hospital” signs. You will see the
Riverside Campus to your right (after the Queensway overpass).
- General Campus will be on the left after you cross Alta Vista Drive
