Board of Governors
Message from the Chair
The Ottawa Hospital is one of Canada's largest acute care hospitals. Since it was
created in 1998, The Ottawa Hospital has been gradually earning a national reputation as a great place
in which to work, to provide patient care, to pursue training in a health care profession, or to conduct
research.
For the communities of the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), it has also become a place where health
care services are provided with compassion and a commitment to quality and excellence.
The Ottawa Hospital is, first and foremost, a community resource. A voluntary
Board of Governors governs The Ottawa Hospital on behalf of the community.
The Board is
responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Hospital by establishing and regularly
reviewing the Vision, Mission and Core Values. The Board is also responsible for making
sure that the hospital meets the health care needs of the community within the resources
that are available to provide services.
Board members bring a wide range of skills
and experience to their leadership role. The Board include representatives from
communities in the Champlain LHIN.
The Board of Governors welcomes input from members of the public. Individuals
wishing to bring matters to the attention of the Board should submit their request in
writing to:
